SPROUT

Supporting Practical Research & On-farm User Testing

SPROUT is rethinking how Agtech gets built—by starting where it matters- on the farm. This project brings farmers and developers together early in the process to co-design tools that solve real problems, not imagined ones. The result? Smarter innovation, faster adoption, and better outcomes for everyone.

Current Opportunities

EZI Pre-Accelerator Program

Do you have an idea that could change the future of farming? the EZI Pre-Accelerator program, delivered by Agristart with support from the Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission is designed to help turn your vision into a viable business.

EZI BUSHFIRE NETWORK

From Data to Disaster Resilience

This initiative began with the Data Hub Pilot in 2021 , developed in collaboration with Axistech, to demonstrate the potential of a centralized data platform for farm management. From this concept, the Bushfire Water Network emerged as a natural evolution, transforming data-driven insights into a real-time emergency response tool.

At its core, the Data Hub integrates farm business data on private water sources, enhancing decision-making and networked resilience. This technology laid the foundation for the Bushfire Water Network, which leverages the same data-sharing principles to connect farms and emergency services, ensuring faster, smarter responses during bushfire events.

By spinning off from the original Data Hub concept, the Bushfire Water Network demonstrates how agtech innovation can adapt to real-world challenges, delivering solutions that not only improve on-farm productivity but also enhance climate resilience and community preparedness.

PRODUCER EXPOSURE EMMERSION PROGRAM- PEEP

The Producer Exposure and Emersion Program (PEEP) provided producers with opportunities to explore and engage with cutting-edge agricultural technology. Funded by the Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission (GEDC), the program enabled EZI to send a delegation of producers to evokeAG in Perth and also to conduct several online meetups facilitating conversation between early stage technology developers and producer members who joined in, the purpose of these conversations was to encourage greater collaboration between startups and producers.

Farm Demonstration Series- Peep

The PEEP Program also allowed EZI to run our first digital farm demonstration series, authored by EZI committee member and agronomist Giles McMeikan. The series follows a paddock for a season and discussed the options available to manage a paddock using the data that had been recorded and best practice on the implementation of the management tactics

  • EM38 & Soil Cores: practical implementation of a VR Gypsum Program

  • Variable Rate Nutrition for Optimal Crop Growth: Soil maps, past yield & elevation data to optimise seeding strategies

  • Leveraging Harvest Data for informed decision making: On farm trials and experimentation
